Christmas cards

We don't send Christmas Cards.
In stead, we make a donation each year to an organisation we really think it's worth it.
Last year, and this year again, I will be sending my money to stichting viervoeters
Check it out!

There are some exeptions however!
Both my parents and my grandparents get a self-made card.
They really appreciate it and to show our appreciation for all the things they did for us they're the only ones we'll be sending a Chrismas card!
These cards I made them last year:

Wij versturen geen Kerstkaarten.
In plaats daarvan doen we ieder jaar rond de Kerst een donatie aan een goed doel.
Vorig jaar, en dit jaar ook weer, zullen we doneren aan stichting viervoeters
Kijk eens naar hun goede werk!

Er zijn echter uitzonderingen.
Mijn ouders en schoonouders krijgen wel een - zelfgemaakte - kaart.
Ze stellen dit echt op prijs en natuurlijk is het een manier om duidelijk te maken dat we waarderen wat ze allemaal voor ons doen en deden.
Deze kaarten maakte ik vorig jaar.

Vintage scrapping

Thanks to my dad (amature photographer) and my granddad (also amature photographer) I have tons of old pictures. The oldest dates back to 1891!
This picture shows my great-grandparents.
This means, that the picture is showing the parents of my grandmother (mother of my father)
During a worskhop I made this layout.
It's supposed to be vintage but with not to much bling etc.
(I'll keep the bling for more recent pictures :-)
What do you think of it?

Dankzij mijn vader (amateur fotograaf) en mijn grootvader (ook amateur fotograaf) heb ik ladingen oude foto's. De oudste gaat terug naar 1891! Op deze foto staan mijn overgrootouders.
Dat wil dus zeggen dat het de ouders van mijn oma zijn (moeder van mijn vader)
Tijdens een workshop maakte ik deze LO.
Het moet vintage zijn maar met niet te veel tierelantijntjes.
(Dat wil ik voorbehouden aan de meer recentere foto's)

Update on sewbox

Well, the weekend turned out quit different then expected.
I didn't finish one single LO but sorted out tons of Lego.... :-)
I am planning to sell it on Marktplaats so I had to inventise all (and of course check if everything is complete and therefore... eh... I had to build a few things :-)

Anyway, at least I had a CREATIVE weekend.
I put my sew box in wood clamps and now I have to be patient... (not one of my best assets)
These wood clamps are HUGE! They fill up the complete kitchen.
I have a friendly colleague from which I could lend these.

As soon as the wood glue has dried I can continue sanding :-(
But first I have to make pictures of all my Lego creations to put them on www. marktplaats.nl !!!

Nou, het weekend is niet helemaal verlopen zoals geplanned.
Ik heb geen enkele LO kunnen afmaken maar ik heb kilo's Lego uitgesorteerd... :-)
Ik wil alles gaan verkopen op Marktplaats en daarom moest ik alles inventariseren (en natuurlijk checken of alles wel compleet is en eh... daarom moest ik natuurlijk het nodige bouwen :-)

Nouja, in ieder geval had ik een CREATIEF weekend.
Ik heb mijn naaibox in de houtklemmen gezet en nu moet ik geduld oefenen (niet een van mijn sterkste kanten)
Deze houtklemmen zijn echt GIGANTISCH! Ze vullen de hele keuken met hun omvang.
Ik heb een vriendelijke collega van wie ik deze enorme dingen kon lenen.

Zodra de houtlijm droog is en de klemmen er weer af kunnen kan ik weer verder met schuren :-(
Maar eerst moet ik foto's maken van al mijn Lego creaties om ze op Marktplaats te kunnen zetten !!!

Vintage card

It's nearly weekend! And it's going to be a beautiful one. Weatherwise I mean..
When I look outside right now, the sun is shining brightly. I so love this kind of weather; in the fall when all the leaves are yellow, brown and orange.
So, I think I will put on my new boots and go outside for a walk!
For us, it's also going to be a quit weekend, without any appointments (finally...)
Hopefully that will give me the time to scrap a few layouts which have been sitting on my desk for so long.
Oh well, we will see... :-)

Het is bijna weekend! En het wordt een mooi weekend. Voor wat betreft het weer bedoel ik...
Als ik nu naar buiten kijk, zie ik een stralende zon. Ik ben zo gek op dit herfst-weer; als alle bladeren verkleuren naar geel, bruin, oranje; geweldig!
Dus, ik denk dat ik zo meteen mijn nieuwe laarzen maar aan doe en naar buiten ga voor een lekkere wandeling!
Voor ons wordt het eindelijk weer eens een rustig weekend (na een heleboel drukke weekenden)
Hopelijk geeft dat me de tijd om weer eens een heleboel weg te scrappen dat al heel lang op mijn werkblad ligt.
Nou ja, we zien wel.... :-)

Vintage tag

Here's a vintage tag I made last weekend.
Actually it's a manilla enveloppe from which I cut off the two top corners.
A while ago I bought two pompon makers from Clover, they are very handy to make tiny pompons.
As you can see, on the top of the tag I attached a pompon.
I distressed the edges with Distress ink from Ranger (Vintage Photo and Black Soot) and stichted it by hand.
Furthermore, on the tag I used one of my altered chipboard frames (see tutorial dtd. Sept. 1st.)
I'm not sure yet what to use this tag for but for now it's sitting on my desk being pretty :-)

Self-made pompon

Dit is een vintage tag die ik het afgelopen weekend in elkaar freubelde.

Eigenlijk is het een manilla enveloppe waar ik de twee bovensteste hoekjes vanaf knipte!

Een tijdje geleden kocht ik een pompon maker van het merk Clover en dat is een handig dingetje om hele kleine pompons mee te maken.

Zoals je ziet, heb ik aan de bovenkant van de tag een zelfgemaakte pompon bevestigd.

Ik heb de randjes van de tag bewerkt met Distress Inkt van Ranger (Vintage Photo en Black Soot) en alles is met de hand doorgestikt.

Verder heb ik op deze tag een bewerkt chipboard frame-pje gebruikt (zie mijn tutorial van de eerste September) 

Ik weet nog niet waar ik deze tag voor ga gebruiken, maar voorlopig zit-ie gewoon mooi te wezen op mijn werkblad! :-)

Completely stuck...
Can anyone help me please?

Last October - as you all know by now I suppose - we visited Tanzania and of course I brought home thousands of pictures.
Last year however, we visited beautiful Canada and brought home the same amount of pictures.
On a flee market (my favorite place to shop!) I bought several old atlases to use as background paper.

At that time I was very eager to make a beautiful scrapbook about the Rockies and made a good start.
And that's still what it is today... only a start.... :-(

I scrapped the front page and the route we drove but I don't seem to be able to produce any more layouts...
Makes me sad because I bought so many lovely embellishments and beautiful patterned paper....
My problem is, that I want my travel journal to be part of the layouts and frankly it's just to much text!
Help!

Ik zit vast.

Echt helemaal vast...

Kan iemand mij alstublieft helpen?

In Oktober - en dat weten jullie allemaal inmiddels wel - bezochten we Tanzania en kwamen we met busladingen prachtige foto's thuis.

Vorig jaar echter, bezochten we het geweldige Canada en brachten we eenzelfde hoeveelheid foto's mee. (Tja, je bent verslaafd aan fotograferen of niet :-)

Ik heb toen op een vlooienmarkt (favoriete plek om te shoppen!) enkele oude atlassen gekocht om het papier als achtergrond papier te gebruiken en ook had ik grootse plannen om met dat papier een album te bekleden.

Ik was vastbesloten om een mooi scrapbook te maken over de Rockies en ik maakte een leuke beginpagina.

Maar dat is wat het is gebleven... alleen een beginpagina...

Het schijnt dat ik niet meer pagina's kan produceren....

Daar word ik wel een beetje triest van want ik heb zoveel mooie embellishments gekocht (ter plekke!) en prachtig dessin papier.

Mijn probleem is dat ik mijn travel journal wil integreren in het scrapbook maar het is zo ongelooflijk veel tekst... het past gewoon niet!

Help!
